Israel Support Rally, June 30, 2010
| We knew it was time once again to
stand with Israel to show Christian support for God's land and the
Jewish people. Some people wonder about the value of standing on the
street waving signs and flags. We do this to both encourage the Jewish
people in our community and in Israel (We know that one Jewish friend
was sending pictures to his friends in Israel to show that there are
Christians, even in little Brevard County Florida, who stand with them.
) Also, many people who drive by are ignorant of the facts. If all they
see and hear are negative comments about Israel (such as those so
prevalent in the media), they will form a negative opinion about this
tiny nation. If they see that there are people who take the time to
stand in the hot Florida sun to wave signs, they may think "Wow, this
Israel must be OK, if people around here love it so much." Every
little bit helps. We believe it is particularly helpful when young
people, future leaders of our community, see other young people standing
with Israel.
