Jewish Festival 2011
| Project Restoration is proud to support the
Annual Jewish Festival sponsored by the Jewish Federations of Brevard
and Indian River Counties. This year, both Jewish and Christian dance
teams worked together to present a shpiel (comedy/parody) about the
story of Queen Esther (Hadassah in Hebrew). This was our teams' first
try at comedy, and we found we really enjoyed it.

(Soldiers of the Persian King set out to deliver the King's edict that all Jews in the Kingdom will be killed. While we were not originally comfortable making comedy out of this song (as our Jewish friends requested that we do) we realized that one of the successful survival methods the Jewish people have used over the centuries is comedy, an ability to laugh at serious situations and to rejoice in the fact that God has stood with them and protected them throughout the ages. )
